  29.     *General Information
  30.  
  31.             XPCOM incorporates a powerful internal logging function.
  32.             Many of the log entry items are automatically done
  33.             depending on the mode of operation.

  36.             The following information is ALWAYS entered for you.

  39.             1.    Station Call Sign.
  40.  
  41.                     The station call is entered by using the F2 key or
  42.                     in Packet or Pactor upon connect.
  43.  
  44.             2.    AMTOR Selcal
  45.  
  46.                     XPCOM automatically calculates the correct AMTOR
  47.                     Selcal when the call sign has been entered via the
  48.                     F2 Key or upon connect in Packet or Pactor.
  49.  
  50.             3.    Current Time in UTC.
  51.  
  52.             4.    Current Date in UTC.
  53.  
  54.             5.    Default 599 Signal reports.

  57.             Additionally,  if you have AutoSearch selected ( see operating
  58.             parameters information under Setup Menu) any information
  59.             from a previous QSO will be carried over to the new entry.
  60.             This will carry over Comments, Name and QTH.

  62.             If you are using SAMS Radio Callbook,  the Name and QTH
  63.             will automatically be entered.

  89.     *Entering a Name

  91.             To enter a name in the log,  press CTRL - N.  This will
  92.             bring up a small entry box in the Transmit Window.
  93.             Enter the name of the other operator and press the
  94.             enter key.  This will transfer the name to the main
  95.             XPCOM log.

  98.             the F3 key and using the arrow keys to move to the Name
  99.             field.        Press the ESC key to close the window.

  151.             To enter a frequency in the log,  press CTRL - F.
  152.             This will bring up a small entry box in the
  153.             Transmit Window.  Enter the desired frequency and
  154.             press the enter key.  This will transfer the
  155.             frequency information to the main XPCOM log.

  157.             You may also enter the frequency by pressing
  158.             the F3 key and using the arrow keys to move to the
  159.             frequecny field and entering the information.  Press
  160.             the ESC key to close the window.

  162.    If you are using the rig interface option the frequency
  163.    will automatically be entered for you.

  186.         To enter comments into the logbook,  press the F3 key.
  187.         Use the arrow keys to move to the Comments field, type
  188.         whatever information you desire then press the Enter Key.

  206.     *Saving the Entry

  209.             The log may be saved one of three ways.
  210.

  213.             1.    If running in packet or pactor,  and the
  214.                     option "Save Log on Disconnect" is enabled
  215.                     in the "Oper. Parms" Menu.  The log entry
  216.                     will automatically be saved when the link or
  217.                     connect is terminated.

  220.             2.    By clicking the mouse on the Save field in the
  221.                     F3 Logbook screen.
  222.  
  223.             3.    By pressing CTRL-L at any time during program
  224.                     operation.  This will save the current log
  225.                     information to disk.

  229.             NOTE
  230.  
  231.                     Remember that each time CTRL-L and the Save
  232.                     button is used a NEW log entry is created.
  233.                     The entry should only be "SAVED" once per QSO.

  254.             Editing of the Logbook may be done by selecting the
  255.             Logbook menu option under the MISC menu.

  258.             XPCOM will startup XPLOG and you may do any editing
  259.             required at this point.
